DJ Rae Is Back With 'Surrender'

Fresh Off The Back of Previous Release on Rated DJ Rae Is Back With 'Surrender'

              DJ Rae

For those that don't know Dj Rae's back catalogue is like a who's who of the scenes biggest house label anthems rolled into one

Her latest release ‘Surrender’ is another ridiculous banger from the multi-talented DJ Rae, who showcases her impressive talents as a Producer, Singer and Songwriter. The deep and uplifting track fuses bass and acid house elements, alongside Rae’s powerful vocal

On ‘Surrender’, DJ Rae says: "’Surrender’ started with my vocal and strings, then the dirty sounds and infectious cowbells found their way in. I got on a bit of an old school bassy trip with this one and it has been working nicely in my sets."

Rae's expansive discography is ever growing, with a host of major collaborations and solo works. Rae shares a great history with Defected Records since her first, self-penned release with the label, ‘Can’t Stop’ with Kings of Tomorrow became a house anthem. Rae's multi-faceted talent lead to her fast becoming an artist in demand, headlining tours as both a DJ and live act worldwide, with residencies at Ushuaïa and Pacha Ibiza, paving the way with confident productions such as ‘Hide U’ with Sandy Rivera, ‘Another Day’, ‘Deep In Your Love’ and the massive Top 20 release ‘Take Me Away’ with DJ S.K.T. Recent releases include ‘Yesterday’ On Armada, ‘Groove On’ on Spinnin’, ‘That Feeling’ on Get Twisted, ‘Harmony’ on Love & Other, ‘Sweat’ on Nothing Else Matters/Sony, and ‘Reachin’ on In The Loop.

Rae's talent is undoubtable and we expect her Rated label to be a huge success along with this banger of a release 'Surrender'

Luppi Remix A Classic Tina Turner Riddim For 2017 'What's Love Got To Do With It'

Italian dance duo Luppi hit us with debut single ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ Out Now on Polydor

A smooth and addictive synth-based production, the track acts as a reworking of Tina Turner’s 1984 classic of the same title. Displaying their highly skilled production abilities on the release, Luppi’s rendition of ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ flaunts a slowed tempo and soothing melody which runs throughout the track. Topped with a floaty breakdown, the melodic production marks a strong debut for the European pair

Paying homage to their Italian roots, the pair state that the track is inspired by the city of Turin, and legendary Juventus footballer, Roberto Baggio, adding, “We love Tina Turner, she is truly an icon here, much like the great Roberto Baggio. ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ is inspired by evenings in Turin and the free spirit of Italian women.”

With Italian brothers Luppi focusing on the free spirit of their native women, their sound embodies their own free spirits. The Italian dance duo are set to make a huge impact on the dance industry with ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’. Fresh Off The Release Of His Latest Track 'Overcome' Louis Benton Caught Up With Us Exclusively

UrbanHouseMusic sat down with House Producer and upcoming star Louis Benton for a quick chat about his latest release on Get Twisted Records & what popping for the rest of 2017

              Louis Benton

So who is Louis Benton? I am a DJ/Producer from a town in the West Midlands called Kidderminster, which is between Worcester and Birmingham!.

What / who got you into music? Now there’s a story close to my heart! I first got into music at the age of 11 after my Dad, who was a funky house DJ, tragically passed away in a car accident. A few months later, his wife to be at the time, gave me his prized possession, which were his mixing decks. Since then my love for music has blossomed.

What / who got you into music? I’ve been writing and featuring on my own music for about 7 years, however I’ve been producing music using Logic for about 3 years now

Checking out your catalogue, we heard and loved ‘Ménage A Trois’. What are your musical influences? Haha, ‘Ménage A Trois’! The song written about a threesome! That song was written by a chap called Mr Limey! I sing in the chorus. That particular track was produced by the Bass Don, Chris Lorenzo.

My musical influences are my Dad for sure, and a whole heap of different artists. I get inspired to make a wide range of house music, from real dirty bass stuff, to uplifting euphoric stuff like ‘Overcome’. I have never been narrow-minded with music. I started off playing funky house for years, to being in a band, to playing & making bassline & jackin’, which has all lead me to and influenced the sound I have today. So, I guess my biggest influence is myself!

What was the thought process to creating ‘Overcome’? I wanted to create something euphoric, hands in the air sort of thing, using a synth sound over a bass, and lots of atmospheric pads that almost make you want to cry! I click with Malisha’s voice and find her really easy to work with. I get inspired to write a good track when she sends me a vocal.

How did the collaboration with Malisha Bleau for the new release ‘Overcome’ come about? Her vocals compliment the beat so well. It came as a follow up to ‘Virus’, and it has done a lot better. Her vocals are amazing. She gets it right first time as well! We didn’t have to re-record anything. She is a very talented girl and she holds it down well!.

We see you have a previous track with Malisha, ‘Virus’. Got any other tracks with her coming out? Virus’, yes, loved making that! We are in talks about doing another track together yes, you will have to wait and see! Haha.

Are there any artists you wish to work with down the line? Or any festivals you crave to tear down.. I’d love to work with more great singer/songwriters as Malisha is the first vocalist I’ve worked with. Being a vocalist myself, I’ve always focused on writing and singing the tracks myself, but to start working with other vocalists such as Malisha has been great. A person I’ve always wanted to get on a track is my sister Olivia - she has an absolutely amazing voice! And festivals, I hope to get on some nice festivals next year. I’d love to play at We Are FSTVL, Made, Creamfields… S**T, I’d love to play at them all! Haha. .

What is in the pipeline musically for Mr Benton? A hell of a lot more music, you can count on that. My mind is always ticking, so expect to see a lot more from me!
