Gene Farris adds to collection of monster jams with ‘New Jack City’ EP via Sola
Gene Farris is the legend known for stellar releases like Move Your Body, Play, LOL and monumental album This Is My Religion which is still being spun to this day as well as recent smash Inside My Head with Will Clarke. Now, Gene Farris returns to Solardo’s Sola label for his latest EP New Jack City.
Gene’s extraordinary career on the house scene spans almost 30 years, starting out as a self-taught engineer, Chicago bred Farris first made his mark spinning acid house and disco tunes in the early 90s. Fast forward to now and he is the mastermind behind Farris Wheel Recordings, which has been churning out hits from Sonny Fodera, Glenn Underground, DJ Mes and more. While Traxsource has also named him their #9 Tech House Artist of the Year, with Gene also bagging Beatport’s Top 10 spot for months on end with We Work It alongside Sonny Fodera.
Earning his stripes with mega jams through world-leading labels like Relief, Dirtybird, ViVa Music and Defected, his records have been spun in sets globally by none other than Loco Dice, Carl Cox and Green Velvet just to name a few. While killer collaborations with dance heavyweights such as Erick Morillo, Sonny Fodera, Harry Romero and more has resulted in nothing other than mind-blowing dance weapons.
