EDYTH RELEASES ALLURING FIRST SINGLE AHEAD OF UPCOMING 18 TRACK ALBUM
Edyth is a mysterious producer that’s been laying down expansive musical work since 2015. This Sudanese born, Kuwait living artist is behind an exciting body of work to come later in the year. Before that, Edyth releases his first electronic slice of 2019 with new single, Sober Blend.
Moahammed Abnoaf, the name behind the Edyth project, was drawn to working on sound design with layers of vulnerability, experimentation and sentimentality. Musically expressing this array of deep-rooted emotions became an important channel for a person from a third world country, like himself, to articulate and reflect in a way today’s society usually restricts.
The highly anticipated album Bare II coming later this year is a three-year endeavour that subtly hints a sci-fi narrative. The epic 18 track project explores the world outside of our comfort zone, and the journey that goes with navigating this unknown territory. Utterly immersed in this theme, Edyth transfixes listeners with his interpretation of an artificial, harsh, alien space and the constructed optimism that becomes integral for survival.
Sober Blend from Edyth is the first in a deeply emotive expanse of work. Defying western dance traditions, this track is a progressive and ambient effort with rolling meditative sounds holding the specific intention to discern. It’s a tentative single that expresses Edyth’s concerns for expanding musical reach. Even so, Sober Blend is approached admirably with bold prowess and a rumble of equally satisfying cinematic appeal.
